His sweet, warm, expressive voice was often used to interpret songs by Joni Mitchell and James Taylor (before either had released records). An entirely self-taught, excellent bottleneck player, Rush helped usher in the Singer-Songwriter era with the release of <I>The Circle Game</I>, containing his best known original, "No Regrets" (later popularized by the Walker Brothers).
