<title>Playlists Featuring The Fleshtones on Rhapsody Online</title><link>http://www.rhapsody.com/goto?rcid=art.1308&amp;variant=artist-playlists&amp;rws=%2Fthe-fleshtones%2Fplaylists.rss</link><description>The Fleshtones brought the Farfisa organ-filled Garage Rock sounds of the 1960s right to their own Queens, N.Y. garage in 1976, and subsequently took it to other garages around the world. They had an early Alternative FM radio hit with "American Beat," a song which showed off their never-changing retro sound. Like the Ramones -- also from Queens, the Garage Rock capital of the world -- the Fleshtones proved there is no reason to evolve away from hook-filled, pre-hippie radio rock. Group leader Peter Zaremba hosted an early Alternative Rock show on MTV, is a journalist, and has proudly sported the same &lt;i&gt;Room With a View&lt;/i&gt; hairstyle for his entire life. If you're having a party filled with people secure in their non-hip-hop Caucasian-ness, play the Fleshtones.
