Texas is the Reason started in 1994, when its members, tiring of their current hardcore bands, came together to form something more melodic. The resulting sound employed the pendulum-like dynamics that has come to define Emo, as dramatic twists of the (relatively) quiet versus turned into all-hell-just-broke-loose choruses. Jubilant in its cacophony, the band's sound attracted devoted followers and inspired countless imitators. The members of Texas is the Reason never got along personally, and eventually the hostility would take its toll.
