Everybody always mentions how Hank Williams III plays bass for this band but the real draw is former Eyehategod guitarist Jim Bower's presence. At their best, Superjoint Ritual sounds like a more souped-up version of Eyehategod, with better production values and the immediately-identifiable Anselmo shriek. At their worst they sound like Phil Anselmo screaming his goddamned face off with blisteringly heavy guitars and stomp-your-head-in drums for support.
