Their songs are generally up-tempo and characterized by frequent breaks or changes, sophisticated production, and complex arrangements; the Argentinian band's lyrics, effortlessly sung with passion, can be irreverent and dark, or humorous and even tender. "Matador" was a huge international hit for them and ultimately led to collaborations with Fishbone, Deborah Harry, Mick Jones, and Celia Cruz.
