Lead by primary songwriter and vocalist Emanuel Lundgren, the Swedes bring a Polyphonic Spree gleefulness to their grand choral sound, which features multiple vocalists and myriad instruments including guitars, mandolins, saxophones, accordions, synths, glockenspiels, banjos, flutes, clarinets and more. In 2005, Lundgren gathered 28 of his friends (most of whom were not professional musicians) to help him record an EP. Buzz from those recordings would lead to a signed deal with EMI, which released the group's debut full-length, Let Me Introduce My Friends, in 2006. Their follow-up came in the fall of 2008 with Who Killed Harry Houdini?, inspired by Lundgren's fascination with magic.
