<title>Playlists Featuring Gods and Queens on Rhapsody Online</title><link>http://www.rhapsody.com/goto?rcid=art.23613790&amp;variant=artist-playlists&amp;rws=%2Fgods-and-queens%2Fplaylists.rss</link><description>Gods and Queens -- vocalist/ guitarist Jamie Getz, bassist Ben Roysdon and drummer Robin Fowler -- are an experimental three-piece from Brooklyn and Philadelphia. They claim to have "tried in vain to blatantly steal riffs and song patterns from some of their favorite bands" -- namely, Unwound and Lungfish, but they also draw comparisons to Quicksand and Fugazi. Though they claim to have failed at every attempt, there is no denying the static lo-fi/noise rock feel to their untitled 2008 debut. The seven untitled tracks explore an array of rhythms, textures and effects alongside (and somewhat over the top of) gravelly vocals that do indeed reflect their notable predecessors.
