<title>Playlists Featuring Convoy on Rhapsody Online</title><link>http://www.rhapsody.com/goto?rcid=art.5203&amp;variant=artist-playlists&amp;rws=%2Fconvoy%2Fplaylists.rss</link><description>From the ashes of San Diego's Dishwater rose the shiny, metallic, big-rig Convoy -- hauling heavy shipments of rich songcraft to clubs and concert halls all around the United States. This Roots rock quintet specialized in breathing new life into old sounds. Convoy took vestiges of Cosmic American Music, canyon Country Rock, beach harmonies, and orchestral pop stylings into their kinetic mind-frame for innovative injections and sonic surgery. Jason Hill's songwriting served as an electric canvas for his bandmates to layer dynamic, soaring vocal harmonies and rustic musical textures. The band's exceptional ability to lovingly arrange songs a la Burt Bacharach put them light years ahead of their &lt;i&gt;No Depression&lt;/i&gt; colleagues and peers. Anyone who had ever seen the band's explosive live performances walked away from the show with a head full of catchy songs and an understanding that Convoy was an A&amp;R wet dream waiting to happen. Unfortunately for twang-rock fans, Convoy left their country rock style on the back burner to experiment with commercial alternative radio rock before disbanding and becoming Louis XIV, a seemingly Strokes inspired outfit.
