Their classic debut &lt;I&gt;It's A Compton Thang&lt;/I&gt; dropped in 1990 and showcased high-energy production and fierce rhymes. &lt;I&gt;Straight Checkn'em&lt;/I&gt; and &lt;I&gt;Music To Driveby&lt;/I&gt; followed, and they also had a hit with "Growin' Up In the Hood" from the &lt;I&gt;Boyz N The Hood&lt;/I&gt; soundtrack. Shortly after their third album, MC Eiht split the crew to pursue a successful solo career. They regrouped in 2000 for &lt;I&gt;Represent&lt;/I&gt;, and later released a greatest hits collection called &lt;I&gt;When We Wuz Bangin'&lt;/I&gt;.
