<title>Music Videos by Cephalic Carnage on Rhapsody Online</title><link>http://www.rhapsody.com/goto?rcid=art.33825&amp;rws=%2Fcephalic-carnage%2Fmusic-videos.rss</link><description>Cephalic Carnage play dense, impossibly bottom-heavy Grindcore that's capable of laying serious waste to bass-challenged stereo systems. Unlike many Grind bands, their music isn't all two-hundred miles-per-hour wreckage. Their songs feature plenty of odd twists, often in the form of jazzy interludes with actual clean-toned guitars. Rhythmically, they run the gamut from trudging slowness to rifling blastbeat insanity, with most of the action landing in a convoluted mid-tempo headspace. On the lyrical front, the recurring theme is marijuana, but with a twist: "Hybrid" tells of an ill-fated attempt to splice cannabis DNA into the genome of a mouse. "Cryptosporidium" is even more preposterous, recounting a tale of mass bacteria illness, brought on by a defective filter at the city's water treatment plant and only treatable with -- yes, you guessed it. Totally implausible (and with the guttural vocal growls, all but indecipherable), yet somehow still keeps with the general over-the-top scheme laid out by this still-developing crew of sludge-happy skull pounders.
