But as the frontman soon found out, blending the hardcore style of Snapcase with the experimental flavor of Cave In made for something worth more than just recording practice, so he added guitarists Jason Baker and George Fava and drummer Matthew Smith to the roster. 2006's &lt;I&gt;Faith and Failure&lt;/I&gt; on Tribunal Records was well received and created label interest in the quartet. After signing with Prosthetic Records, 2008's &lt;I&gt;Black Ocean&lt;/I&gt; emerged with a heavy buzz for its artistic innovation; the video for "Black Ocean" received regular rotation on MTV's Headbangers Ball.
